A week old...

It's more than a week into blogging and I'm having a good time. Both my dad and Ji are pathetic writers. I used to mail them often, eagerly open my inbox in the ensuing days only to find it empty. I could have as well spoken to a door knob for all the replies I got. With time, my enthusiasm to write mails started waning as their lack of it rubbed on me. Thus, the discovery of this platform called a blog was just the right thing; it's atleast better than a door knob :) ! And Ji, if you are reading this, atleast improve your frequency of writing mails to me!! Ya I know, we have an online chat almost everyday, but yeh dil maange more! Also, know that I love you, no matter what *kiss*!

I was glancing through some of the other blogs, a few of which I've linked here, and felt comparitively inferior in writing skills. I wondered when I could match their brilliance in language and whether I could match at all :( ! *sigh*. I particularly liked the blog titled 'Reflections in d sky'...it's truly captivating to the visual senses. The guy seems to be an ace in JavaScript.

Mom's out of town; so that means the job of cooking has been delegated to this gifted soul. And Ji will vouch for my exemplary culinary skills :( ! Aah...how mediocre can I get! Hope to show some competency atleast in the coming exams!

It's Christmas and I am nostalgic. The entire tenure of my school life was spent in a Christian Convent school, where we had the carols, skits enacting the birth of Christ and lots of gifts! 'We three kings from Orient are...' was my favorite carol. Even as I write this, I have a fleeting memory of all those days!

Time's a big constraint for me these days; and it will be so atleast for the next couple of weeks, owing to my exams. Once I am done with them, I would be free to relate some interesting and not-so-interesting excerpts from my life...

The Parable Of The Pencil

The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside, just before putting him into the box.

"There are 5 things you need to know," he told the pencil, "Before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best pencil you can be."

"One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in Someone's hand."

"Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you'll need it to become a better pencil."

"Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make."

"Four: The most important part of you will always be what's inside."

"And Five: On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the condition, you must continue to write."

The pencil understood and promised to remember, and went into the box with purpose in its heart.

Now replacing the pencil with you. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best person you can be.

One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in God's hand. And allow other human beings to access you for the many gifts you possess.

Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, by going through various problems in life, but you'll need it to become a stronger person.

Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make.

Four: The most important part of you will always be what's on the inside.

Five: On every surface you walk through, you must leave your mark. No matter what the situation, you must continue to do your duties.

Enhanced Look!

Ok...so you see something new here? Yes...that's the doodle-board I put up this morning :) ! All the blogs I visited to date have this; so I was tempted to have one too - more so to try out something I've never tried before than to actually want a doodle-board. Can't understand why it is required when people can very well have their say in the 'comments' section! Anyway, now that it's in place, lemme see if it serves any purpose...lol! I also have a Thought for the Day section where I intend to put up good quotes!

There's this huge shopping mall that's come up in our city. I visited it the second time yesterday, along with my bro. Roaming all over its vast spread has taken a painful toll on my legs :( ! But it was worth the effort...it has absolutely adorable stuff and is beautifully decked up too...what with Christmas and New Year just round the corner!

Not much work in the office, so I am utilizing the time to prepare for my upcoming exams. Apart from this, the TV & newspapers are full of disgusting stories of children resorting to pornography and bringing sheer disgrace to their parents and schools. Where is the world going to? These days I hesitate to look at the papers for fear of what more shocking news they would have in store for us!

That's about it for now I guess...

Merciless Pangs of Pain

Was just going through the blog of Sweet Poison. The girl is putting up with too much pain. Wish I could reach out to her and ease her misery. It's amazing how sometimes we start relating so much to other's lives. I've legions of times felt like she does. It is said that love is a universal language; but so is pain. There's too much of it in my life, too...but certainly not for the reason she cites.

There's another thing common to the both of us...the admiration for Salman Khan ;)!! Yet another...that the two of us are extremely emotional!

I wish to share, every single issue that rips my heart apart...I wish to vent out all my frustrations and sorrows...and joys. No one is isolated from problems and worries in life...just the degree varies. But at times it does appear too tough to bear...
